This was prepared by a teammate on another server who crunched some numbers. While generally irrelevant to us at this relatively early stage in Baris, the ratios do give some guidance about how you might set up a new town whereby you can get some offense while still being strong. I hope you like it:
--------------------
With Grepolis having restructured and rebalanced many of their units, many of the ratios we used in the past have now changed. I have done my best to compile these new ratios based on the new values. Here is a basic worksheet which can be used when viewing the ratios that follow.
The following spoilers are breakdown of each mythical build as compared against regular DLU. While I have only used a farmspace of 2000 to do the comparisons, but I have included the base ratio for each so you can adjust to whatever population you have available (don't forget about your boats).
1. REGULAR DLU - Swordsmen/Archers/Hoplites
The only change that has taken place is the Archer has increased in two areas, but only in a very minor sense. The result is a PERFECT balance of all defensive categories using the previous ratio of 1:1:2.
2. CERBERUS Balance - Cerberus/Archers/Hoplites
The Cerberus has long been seen by most as one of, if not the strongest, defensive unit in the game. As a stand alone unit, this may be the case. However, when one considers the population required to balance these beasts, they prove only mildly more effective than regular DLU.
3. MINOTAUR Balance - Minotaur/Archers/Hoplites
The Minotaur is probably one of the more underrated mythical units in the game; I am not sure why. Their initial numbers may not seem as good as say, a Cerberus, but they can be balanced using very few farmspace, therefore making them more effective than the Cerberus.
4. MEDUSA Balance - Medusa/Swordsmen/Archers
Formerly the strongest defending unit in the game (I know some of you may disagree with me...PM me), the Medusa IS still one of the better defending units. It remains relatively easy to balance and remains more effective than the Cerberus and/or the Minotaur.
5. CALYDONIAN BOAR Balance - Boars/Swordsmen/Archers
A new unit to some of you, the Calydonian Boar is the god Artemis' defensive unit. It is really quite formidable for it's cost, relatively easy to balance, and the second best defender in the game.
6. PEGASUS Balance - Pegs/Centaurs/Swordsmen
Yes, the Pegasus IS the top defender in the game since the rebalancing. BIG problem here is there is a calculation in the base ratio that may confuse some. Also, there is the fact that some of the units in this build require boats where others do not. Basically, AFTER you have built boats to carry the Centaurs and swords, do the following calculations to arrive at the number of units to build.
a.) pegs = (available pop)/686*8
b.) centaurs = (available pop)/686*15
c.) swords = (available pop)/686*346
NOTE: I would NOT recommend sending pegs as we use to do. If you are going to build a "peg only" nuke, I would strongly advise that you send them out ONLY in dire emergencies, or when you can snipe Red Revolt, or snipe a CS. Sending these units out unbalanced just for the sake of BP will cost you dearly.
That being said, when balanced properly, Pegs and Centaurs make the strongest defensive nuke in the game.
